Technical Project Manager (m/f/d)

Berlin
Full-time
Permanent employee

Your mission

You will take ownership of challenging software projects from the initial idea through to successful delivery.

In this role, you combine technical understanding, project management and customer communication. You analyze requirements, work closely with our customers and development team to design technical solutions, and ensure that projects are delivered successfully from both a technical and a business perspective.

You enjoy understanding technical challenges, making well-founded decisions, and communicating confidently with both customers and developers. For you, project management is more than organizing tasks – it means taking responsibility for the overall success of a project.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Taking ownership of complex software projects from start to finish
  • Planning, managing and monitoring projects with regard to timelines, budgets and quality
  • Analyzing business requirements and turning them into technical solution concepts
  • Translating customer requirements into clear and actionable technical specifications
  • Creating, prioritizing and maintaining user stories and product backlogs
  • Facilitating sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, stand-ups and project meetings
  • Estimating effort and coordinating closely with development teams
  • Supporting, coordinating and motivating project team members
  • Advising and supporting customers throughout the entire project lifecycle
  • Identifying technical improvements and opportunities for future enhancements within existing projects
  • Supporting the preparation of technical proposals and follow-up projects
  • Continuously improving our project delivery and development processes

Your skills

You combine strong technical understanding with excellent communication skills and enjoy taking responsibility for challenging software projects.

It is important to us that you can understand technical concepts independently. You don’t need to work as a full-time software developer, but you should be comfortable reading code, understanding technical concepts, building small prototypes or proof-of-concepts when needed, and discussing technical solutions with developers as an equal.

You naturally use modern AI tools to analyze requirements, develop concepts, investigate technical questions, create prototypes and make your daily work more efficient.

Ideally, you bring the following:

  • Experience in technical project management, software development or a similar technical role
  • Strong understanding of modern software development, web technologies, APIs and software architecture
  • Ability to read code and understand technical concepts regardless of the programming language
  • Practical experience with AI-assisted development, prototyping or vibe coding
  • Ability to investigate technical challenges independently before involving additional specialists
  • Experience with agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Experience planning and facilitating sprint planning sessions, reviews, retrospectives and stand-ups
  • Experience writing, structuring and prioritizing user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Experience working with Jira or similar ticket management systems
  • A structured, self-driven and solution-oriented way of working
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment in working directly with customers
  • A good understanding of project economics, budgets, schedules and quality
  • Ability to identify additional opportunities and meaningful improvements within existing customer projects
  • Excellent German and good English language skills

You may currently be working as a Software Developer or Technical Lead and are looking to take on more responsibility for customers and projects. Or perhaps you are already leading technical projects and want to make even greater use of your technical expertise in your daily work.

For us, your current job title is less important than your ability to combine technical expertise, project ownership, customer communication and business thinking.

Our offer

At ethinking, you take responsibility for the success of your projects – technically, organizationally and commercially.

You will work on modern software platforms for national and international customers and actively shape technical solutions. You will collaborate closely with an experienced development team while having a direct impact on both customer success and the future of our projects.

We offer you:

  • Exciting and technically challenging software projects
  • A high level of ownership and freedom to make decisions
  • Direct customer interaction and the opportunity to manage projects from end to end
  • The opportunity to actively shape technical concepts and solutions
  • Modern ways of working, with AI as a natural part of our daily work
  • An experienced, supportive and highly skilled technical team
  • Short decision-making paths and a flat organizational structure
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work
  • Individual learning and professional development opportunities
  • An open company culture where initiative, technical curiosity and entrepreneurial thinking are highly valued
